Training is only valuable when it's applied.

Training works best when people share ideas & experiences amongst each other.

It’s hard to say one training method is always best — if it gets the message across clearly, we’re all for it. Over the years, we’ve learned it’s less about the method and more about how well it’s delivered.

That’s why we’ve sought out the best. Online, face-to-face, blended — whatever you choose, you can trust it will be delivered to a genuinely high standard.

When you work with The Toolbelt, you benefit from years of hands-on experience. Online or in person, our courses focus on engagement, making sure everyone feels included, heard, and confident to join the conversation.

Many challenges get solved simply by talking them through — and that’s exactly what our online workshops are designed for. These interactive, engaging sessions help teams learn and improve together. Most businesses want to do the right thing but aren’t always sure how — and don’t always have the budget for a dedicated health & safety consultant. Our workshops let you explore solutions for your own business, learn from real-world examples, and walk away with practical advice you can use straight away.

First Aid in the Workplace:

Preparing and supporting first aid arrangements.

You’ve already taken a great step by sending your team for first aid training — but that’s only part of what the Health & Safety at Work Act expects. Your first aiders know how to help someone in need, but they may not know how to set up or manage first aid arrangements in the workplace.

This interactive 4-hour online workshop fills that gap. We cover the practical questions businesses often struggle with: how many first aiders and kits you actually need, what should go in them, where they should be placed, and who’s responsible for keeping everything in order. This course is designed for business owners and managers, giving you the confidence to put solid first aid arrangements in place that your first aiders can easily support.

First Aid in the Workplace:

Understanding your role as a workplace first aider.

Your team has completed their first aid training, and now you’d like them to understand how they can support the day-to-day first aid arrangements in your workplace.

This 2-hour interactive workshop helps your first aid team understand what effective first aid arrangements look like, their roles and responsibilities, and how these apply to your specific workplace. They’ll leave with a clear understanding of the systems and processes they can support, how to inspect kits and equipment, and practical ideas and insights shared by others in the group — all directly relevant to your business.

Contractor Management:

Providing confidence that you're the right people for the job.

Whether you think paperwork keeps you safe or not, many main contractors still expect health & safety plans as part of their tender process.

The good news? With a bit of time, effort, and know-how, it’s easy to stand out from the competition. You can give your customers the confidence that you’ll not only get the job done, but do it in a healthy and safe way

This 4-hour online workshop gives you and your team the knowledge, skills, and confidence to prepare a thorough, meaningful Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) that fits the type of work you do. By the end, you’ll be able to show prospective clients that you’re capable and prepared — and you’ll see the real value that good planning brings to your projects and your people.

Job Planning :

Facilitating and preparing a meaningful Task Analaysis

Job planning should be carried out by people who truly understand the work and know how to make the most of the documentation. Too often, you’ll find well-intended plans that are written poorly, which can undermine the job, limit the resources needed to keep people safe, and create a negative attitude toward planning in general.

This 2-hour online workshop gives your team the skills and confidence to create job plans that are clear, practical, and genuinely useful.

Communication:

Preparing and facilitating an engaging toolbox talk.

Toolbox talks can be one of the most powerful parts of your health and safety setup. But when they turn into a tick-box formality — “I talk, you listen” — they end up being a wasted opportunity instead of a practical tool.

Just about every supervisor has to run a toolbox talk at some point, but not many are shown how to plan a good one or how to keep the team engaged. Those skills don’t come naturally to everyone.

This 2-hour online course gives supervisors the know-how to prepare a solid toolbox talk and the confidence to deliver it well.

Courses built around unit standards can be useful, but they often lack the flexibility to address real workplace challenges. The result? Generic training that doesn’t always hit the mark. That’s why we offer solution-specific workshops—practical, targeted, and designed to solve real problems, without being restricted by rigid unit standard requirements.
